Mission Day Two: Yongsan & Myeongdong

Kurisu: "Today is the day we went off to Yongsan with the subway train line 4 and 1. As you can read we had to make a transfer as we are headed to our next destination of our mission... Yongsan is a place where the have an electronics market with video games (retro and new), computers, televisions, tablets, phones and more... The also has a big mall called Ipark where the sell almost everything. We also have been here last year, and had a great time there."

As we walk towards the subway station, we passed the Lotte FITIN department again. This time a snapshot has been made of it with Lilia. We still need to check out this place some time...

After a short stop we head towards the subway station. There also took a moment to take a picture where we charge our Seoul Pass to pay for taking the subway...

And off we go for real this time, taking the line 4 subway towards Oido. We are taking the subway to get off at Seoul Station, and from there we need to transfer to the line 1 subway to get to Yongsan station...

After a few stops, we finally arrive at Seoul Station. It was just a few minutes travelling by subway train. From there it was a short walk to our next subway to take...

After boarding the subway towards Yongsan station, the subway train went from underground to topside. It was about 2 stops till we got to Yongsan...

Arriving at Yongsan we went off towards the electronics market to check out the video game section. So it's time to leave the station and go out for a shopping run...

After leaving the subway, we ended up in the main hall of Yongsan Station. There the had a lots of stuff to look at... Promoting new Samsung devices and more. Just like the airport people can watch television on big screens, while waiting for people to pick up or to meet up with...

Off to the electronic markt...

When we got there at the electronics market, most of the stores weren't open. The videogame markt was closed, and it appears the aren't open on the first tuesday of the month. We didn't knew about this so we ended up before a closed video game market, so we took a little break and went back to Yongsang station... Guess we have to get back here on another day...

At Yongsan Station, we headed for the I'park Mall which wasn't closed on this day. There we started to explore the building and discovered places we haven't seen last time...

After walking around we ended up at the bookstore we've been last year to checkout the music/video section. There we want to find special music cd's...

We then went up to the Toy Factory and the Gundam Base.

This area looks really fun because it has all kinds of toys and hobby stuff.

This area has a lots of models of cars, planes and Sci-Fi vehicles from famous movies and tv-shows and anime shows...The even had a great model of te U.S.S. Enterprise for the Star Trek: The Next Generation show...

After snoopin' around the place we went to the Gundam Base Side 4 Store. This is THE Gundam Store of Korea, and the have a huge collection of Mobile Suits to build and collect. Most of the items are model kits, but they also have collectible figures...

Kurisu could spend hours in this store, scoutin the Mecha figures of Gundam and other anime shows... Looking and thinking which one to buy...

Later at Starbucks: Wait I've bought it!!!

The Toy Factory was a store where you can buy products of Bandai, like Super Deformed Gundam figures and Power Ranger Stuff...

Then we went to the Toy Outlet where they have all kinds of toys like Transformers, Hotwheels, Marvel Super Heroes, Pororo and more...

After the checking out the toys and hobby stuff, we went out for lunch at a very good and delicious Cutlett restaurant... While waiting for your order, they let you make your own dipping sauce by crushing some sesame seeds in a bowl...

After a few minutes making our own sauce, the food was brought in and it was time to have lunch... and it was goooooood (^_^)b

After walking around some more at the I'park mall we ended up back again at the book store. And look what Lilia has found.. the Active Korean books that we use at Korean School. We also saw book 3 and 4. After that we took a break at Starbucks...

Then we left Yongsan, and headed back to our hotel to drop off our shopping haul before we went to Myeongdong...

Lilia: "After we dropped off our stuff in the hotel, we went to Myeongdong. When we walked out of the subway station we saw a cartoon shop for mobile phones. It looks really cute."

We went straight to Music Korea where Kurisu brought a double Leessang CD (Special Edition). Our mission in Myeongdong is to find CD/ DVD Shops. We know from last year where to find the shops.

We found all the shops except the one that was located in Kosney. To our surprise M-plaza has changed. So no Daiso and Kosney. Those are our favorite shops.We were a little dissappointed. Forever 21 is bigger now and takes almost the whole space of M-plaza.

At YP Books Lilia found an animated movie called Leafie, a Hen into the Wild and the soundtrack of Faith.

Then we walked around for a bit and found the Pop-up store of Etude House. It looked really beautiful and cute ^^ Lilia really likes the make up bags of different countries. They have Seoul, London, Hong Kong, Venezia, Sydney, Paris, Santorini, China, Japan and New York.

We still got time, so we decided to go to Gwanghwamun again. Chris wanted to look at DVD’s and CD’s at Hottracks in Kyobo bookstore.

When we arrived at Kyobo Bookstore. It was still crowded with highschool girls for the album of Exo. Today we found out that there will be a fansigning of EXO on Saterday the 12^th at 6pm.

Kurisu brought Pororo the movie and Lilia brought an album of an Korean singer Yoonhan. Also we finally found the Korean version of the manga series Kimi ni Todoke. We looked for it last year, but we couldn’t find it and now we found it. Lilia brought volume 1 and 2.

It was a full day again, so we headed back. Before we went back to our hotel. We took a quick look at Lotte Fitin. The face of Lotte Fitin is Kim Soo Hyun. Best known of Dream High and The Moon embraces the Sun. We saw there is a food court in the mall. Since we already ate, we are going to eat there another time. We only went to the supermarket 7 eleven to buy some drinks and snacks.

Now we are enjoying our drinks and snacks while writing this blog.

Lilia is distracted by the Korean Drama serie Good doctor on TV. It happens to be the last episode of the drama.

Now Lilia has a little collection of the dramaserie Masters Sun. Yesterday Lilia brought the children’s book that So Ji sub reads in the series. Today she also has found the Soundtrack and the sun necklace what Joo Joong-Won (So Ji Sub) gave to Tae Gong-Sil (Gong Hyo-Jin) in the series.
